Time4popcorn has been one of the major forks since the original Popcorn Time website was closed down and has developed in to a feature rich service that still keeps evolving. It has been closed down a few times but remains resilient and just keeps popping back up.

Time4popcorn features

Time4popcorn has all the features users can ask for: It plays movies, TV-shows and anime, supports Chromecast, Apple TV (with AirPlay) and DLNA, and is available for Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, Android and iOS.

The latter makes it unique as it’s the only major Popcorn Time fork with an iOS app (for iPad and iPhone). Furthermore, the app can be installed on your iPad or iPhone without jailbreaking the device using the brilliant iOS installer. You can learn more about that here: Get Popcorn Time on your iOS device.

If you wish to use Popcorn Time anonymously, it’s very easy with the time4popcorn version thanks to the built-in VPN client that can be activated with a paid subscription to Anonymous VPN.

In the past, the time4popcorn software has unfortunately been reported to occasionally install adware on host computers (not on smartphone/tablet apps). It seems to have been removed in more recent updates but in case it hasn’t, it can fairly easy be removed with free software such as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and is besides the annoying ads harmless. Despite what you might have heard there are no cases of anyone getting virus using the time4popcorn version.

Popcorn Time Online and Torrents Time

The time4popcorn developer team are also behind the browser based Popcorn Time Online service that’s powered by their own Torrents Time streaming platform.
